Speaker:

Welcome to the Giddy Up segment.

2

:

I'm thankful that you're here and I

hope you listened to Tuesday's episode.

3

:

It was kind of a quick, short one,

but it was really inspirational to me.

4

:

I was on vacation in Arizona, waiting

for family to arrive and just enjoying

5

:

the quiet, and I had been on a

long hike, which is a way for me to

6

:

really connect with God, in fact.

7

:

It was interesting today.

8

:

We've got a bunch of snow and I

was feeling kind of uninspired

9

:

and not super passionate and.

10

:

You know, I look at that

and I think, why is that?

11

:

Why is it that sometimes

I just kind of drag?

12

:

And so I got up, I jumped a little

bit, I walked around the barn, I

13

:

moved my body and that seemed to help.

14

:

So I think sometimes, and now I'm

doing this recording and I think

15

:

sometimes taking action can help.

16

:

Um, so anyway.

17

:

That was inspiring.

18

:

It was about success and how I have

changed how I view success a lot

19

:

since I was younger and rather than

white knuckling it, I really want

20

:

to find my true calling and follow.

21

:

Follow that.

22

:

And, you know, I, I begin the day

in scripture and I turn to God and

23

:

I go, how can I serve you today?

24

:

And sometimes I forget

till later in the day.

25

:

And so, so then I'm backpedaling,

but it, it has changed my life.

26

:

And what I want to share with

you is something hard that I

27

:

went through, um, just last week

and it was hard and it was good.

28

:

It was, me going to my.

29

:

First diagnostic mammogram since

all my, um, you know, catching that

30

:

stage one cancer started and all

the things that I've been through.

31

:

And I do want you to know that

I am learning how to handle

32

:

hard things so much better.

33

:

And that's what I want to share with you.

34

:

One year ago, if I would have had to

have gone in for a diagnostic mammogram

35

:

after going through all the things

that I've gone through, you probably

36

:

would have had to sedate me this year.

37

:

I was able to, with the help

of surrendering my life to God,

38

:

I was able to kind of get a

handle on my mind and watch it.

39

:

And keep things clear.

40

:

And so I was a little nervous,

but I was not as nervous as I

41

:

normally would have been, which.

42

:

You know, it makes sense.

43

:

It's kind of scary.

44

:

But, um, and I did, I cried a little

when it was good and, um, and it felt

45

:

good, but it wasn't, it wasn't obnoxious.

46

:

It was kind of like when I drove in to

have my surgery, I was so terrified,

47

:

but there was a supernatural peace.

48

:

People talk about this when they

surrender to God and I had that

49

:

again driving in to get this test.

50

:

And I told my husband, I don't

want you to come with me.

51

:

I, I can do this alone because I'm

going to have to keep going in for

52

:

these, you know, every year for the

rest of my life, just like we all

53

:

have done up until this happened.

54

:

And, um, I didn't want

to go and I wasn't happy.

55

:

It was hard, but there was a peace there.

56

:

So it's so hard to describe, but that's

what I call that super natural peace.

57

:

And the only reason I believe I got

that was because of what I went through.

58

:

So listeners don't be afraid

to go through hard things.

59

:

We all do.

60

:

And I don't want you to

suffer, but there is.

61

:

There is a certain amount of difficulties

that we're going to go through.

62

:

I want to help you so that you

can handle the difficulties.

63

:

And so that's why I'm writing my book.

64

:

That's why I'm doing some

new courses on mindset.

65

:

I'm still doing mediations because I feel

so drawn to serving and, um, I feel so

66

:

strongly that that is a gift that I have.

67

:

So that is.

68

:

Probably, well, for right now, always

going to be a part of what I do, uh,

69

:

mediations and um, you know, either

helping people take one last ditch

70

:

effort to save their marriage or

amicably divorcing if, if that's the

71

:

path that they, they choose to take.

72

:

So, um, but in addition to that.

73

:

I want to have some courses and

this book that are going to help

74

:

you get through something hard.

75

:

And I mean, they're here, here

in a nutshell is what it is.

76

:

And I've talked about

this in past podcasts.

77

:

You can go back and listen.

78

:

I talk about mindset a lot.

79

:

It's huge.

80

:

It's big.

81

:

It is the number one step

besides surrendering to God that

82

:

I took to get my mind right.

83

:

And I learned how to

do it through coaching.

84

:

And then.

85

:

I started self coaching so that I could

really, uh, do it every day and get

86

:

better and I don't do it every day.

87

:

I try to remember, but sometimes I get

lost and when really big, scary things

88

:

happen, I got really lost and I had

to go on a little anxiety medication.

89

:

And so, There's a lot of tools out

there that we're going to need.

90

:

It's just that we're going to

really need to think through it and

91

:

pick the option that's best for us

because we're all unique individuals.

92

:

And I feel like that's true of anything.

93

:

That's true of any medication or

any plan or diet, anything that

94

:

you're doing, you are unique.

95

:

So you, it's up to you to figure

out what works best for you and

96

:

what might work best for some.

97

:

may not work best for you.

98

:

For example, I do believe in intermittent

fasting, but that only means that I

99

:

stop eating at dinner and I maybe don't

pick up eating until about 10 30 or 11.

100

:

Um, the next day, what doesn't work

for, for Lisa is to do long fast.

101

:

It raises my cortisol.

102

:

I get chubby, I gain weight.

103

:

So.

104

:

It's just interesting, but

for some people it works.

105

:

So I'd love to be able to

tell you exactly what to do.

106

:

I can share the tools that I know

of that you can start testing out.

107

:

And so I say, I start the day with God.

108

:

I kind of surrender that.

109

:

And then I do that mindset work

and you can go back because these

110

:

are just little short segments.

111

:

You can go back and listen to that mindset

podcast about how to get your mind right.

112

:

Another thing that I did was the

JJ Flazain's core wounds course.

113

:

That is how I started really understanding

what was going on in my head.

114

:

And then I've been doing neuro linguistic

programming, which I haven't even dived

115

:

into, or dove into yet, but I will.

116

:

That is kind of rewiring your brain

to change your beliefs, because even

117

:

though we all know, We should think

of certain way and we know it's

118

:

sometimes silly or not serving us.

119

:

It's really hard to change

those neural pathways.

120

:

So that has been a huge piece.

121

:

That's the first step, um, for

me to changing my life and to

122

:

changing how I felt walking in

to that diagnostic mammogram.

123

:

And so all is good.

124

:

Um, they tell me I'm

cured, which is awesome.

125

:

And I'm so thankful.

126

:

Um, So if you're going through

something hard, go listen to that

127

:

mindset, start digging and take care

of yourself because you, in order to

128

:

serve this world and to use the gifts

that God has given you, you got to

129

:

give yourself rest and care and love.

130

:

So you take good care.

131

:

Thanks so much for being here.
